Maria Paola Denegri
Paola Denegri is a a photographer and mixed media artist. She was born in LIma, Perú. She lived in Toronto, Canada for several years. She is a canadian citizen. She has a diploma in Pychology from La Pontifica Universidad Católica del Perú, a diploma in Art Therapy from “The Toronto Art Therapy Institute” and a Master's degree in Digital Graphic Design form “La Universidad Internacional de La Rioja”, Spain. She has had several solo show in Perú and in in Canada. She was a member of Propeller Center for the Visual Arts and had a solo exhibition, “Pinckerbell”. She also participated in collective shows and was an active member int the gallery. She currently lives in Lima, where she teaches at” La Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicada” and in her small art studio. She has experienced with several visual techniques. Photography, drawing and collage are her main focus. The current images shown are files that have been chosen from a series she worked on while living in Canada “Into The Abyss” and “Middle Point”. She has also picked an image from a series she is currently working on “Splash”.
Artist Statement: These two images are not part of the same series of images, formally speaking. They belong to a life concept: FALLING. Sometimes it is like casting yourself into the abyss. Others, you can let go and experience it without so much drama. It is a matter of attitude.
